some of svg comes to css

On the WebKit blog, Dave Hyatt announced that WebKit now has support for CSS Transforms. This is really interesting because it takes the matrix transformation possibilities from SVG, and moves them into CSS, allowing their application on any HTML element. I’d also bet that given WebKit and Safari 3’s solid SVG support, this was relatively […]

mozilla prism

It’s cool to see the Mozilla Prism announcement. It’s another entry to the “Desktop Apps with Web Technologies” section of my post on the Proliferation of Web App Platforms. Interesting that it is also announced the day Leopard comes out, with its enhanced Cocoa bindings and Dashcode support. I’m curious to see if and how […]

back from italy, refreshed

We returned from Italy recently… what an amazingly refreshing experience. Italy is an amazing country with the great combination of art, architecture, scenery, and cuisine. Fully recharged, there are a number of things we’ve been working on that are close to being announced: Dojo Toolkit 1.0: After 3 plus years, we’re closing in on a […]

grails eXchange

I’m giving a talk on the current state of Dojo at the Grails eXchange on October 17 in London. The conference is put on by Skills Matter, a training company that also puts on our Dojo training courses in Europe. They do an excellent job with the training courses, and there are a number of […]

Announcing the Dojo Grid

After many months of working out the details, we’ve just announced the Dojo Grid! It took a significant amount of effort to make this happen, but we’ve managed to come together with a bunch of people in the community to bring an excellent grid widget to Dojo in time for the 1.0 release. SitePen, Mozilla, […]

cometd tutorial

There’s an easy to follow Cometd tutorial available that shows how to get up and running with the Jetty version of Cometd. The examples use Dojo version 0.4.3, but the syntax changes necessary to make this work with Dojo 0.9 are straightforward.

dojox.gfx at svg open 2007

Eugene has posted his dojox.gfx slides from SVG Open 2007. It’s great information for anyone wanting to learn about dojox.gfx, or wanting to see a preview of the 3d drawing and 3d charting done this summer by our Google Summer of Code students.

in the news

NBC stops selling shows on iTunes – does anyone really care… besides Heroes and the Office, NBC doesn’t have anything worth watching. Ron Paul in the WSJ – a decent write-up about Ron Paul in the WSJ… one thing the media doesn’t seem to get is that he feels abortion rights is not something that […]

dojo on the iphone

I’m giving two talks about Dojo on the iPhone, one at AjaxWorld in San Jose in late September, and the other at Grails eXchange in London in mid-October. The talks will provide a good general summary of Ajax dev on the iPhone, then get into Dojo and Cometd specifics. I’m really curious to know if […]

speaking of schwag

While speaking of schwag, it is worth mentioning that we’re doing a one-day Dojo training course at the end of September in Dallas. What does that have to do with Schwag? Each attendee will receive a t-shirt with the new Dojo logo. I know, I know, much more impressive than an iPhone or Wii, and […]
