A lot has changed for the better since my post four years ago on preventing the death of SVG.
Today, we have excellent SVG (and canvas) implementations in Safari, Firefox, and Opera. dojox.gfx provides a simple JavaScript API based on SVG nomenclature for abstracting away inconsistencies between implementations, and also allow VML and Silverlight support […]

Apple has collated a list of supported CSS properties in Safari. Most notable are the list of webkit-* properties, which are implementations that are either attempts at implementing a CSS 3 draft concept, or experiments by Apple in making CSS better.
On Surfin’ Safari, there’s also a new article about 10 new things with WebKit […]

Apple’s new Spaces feature in Leopard is great, but it lacks many of the customization options I like in the Tiger extension Virtue Desktops. Torrey recently discovered Proxi.app, which allows you to modify hot keys, and much much more.
It’s cool to see the Mozilla Prism announcement. It’s another entry to the “Desktop Apps with Web Technologies” section of my post on the Proliferation of Web App Platforms. Interesting that it is also announced the day Leopard comes out, with its enhanced Cocoa bindings and Dashcode support. I’m curious to see […]

I had an odd realization the other day that the early popular applications on the iPhone such as Facebook and Gas.app are really the network equivalent of old hypercard applications mixed with a Gopher-style interface. Apple’s $100 store credit for existing iPhone owners is a great example of a company doing the right thing by its customers. It should be enough to not discourage early adopters in the future, and yet at the same time doesn’t give people money back so much as giving them more for their purchase. […]

NBC stops selling shows on iTunes - does anyone really care… besides Heroes and the Office, NBC doesn’t have anything worth watching.
Ron Paul in the WSJ - a decent write-up about Ron Paul in the WSJ… one thing the media doesn’t seem to get is that he feels abortion rights is not something that should […]

Apple’s new application, Numbers, is a really nice refreshing blend of Excel and a general diagramming tool. It is surprisingly feature-rich, making actually somewhat more complex to use than a typical Apple app. It’s interesting that the new iWork suite has the Leopard theme or skin. Because of the Leopard delays, Apple […]

I seem to be having the same issue as outlined in this Apple iPhone thread - I no longer seem to be able to sync photos back from the iPhone to iPhoto. Has anyone else seen this issue, and more importantly, is there a known fix?
Update: if you iPhone is locked with a passcode, […]
